Dental Treatment for Children  - Burns

Inverclyde Liberal Democrat activist Robert Burns has raised concerns over the SNP run Scottish Government plans to introduce charges for children's dental treatment and the effect this could have on Inverclyde given current dental health matters in the area.

Robert Burns has stated "It was with great surprise and disgust that I saw on the news on Thursday night that the Scottish Government are no longer going to provide free dental treatment to children who need a brace to realign there teeth unless there are underlying health problems either caused by or causing the problem with the teeth.

This could lead to parents facing
bills of up to £4000 for treatment if they want to provide the best for their children. This was sneaked out by the SNP Government hoping no one would notice until it was too late.

Alex Salmond is very quick to point the finger of blame at the UK Government for things like the cuts to the Coastguard Service some of which the Liberal Democrats have managed to postpone pending further discussion.

Mr Salmond was making a big point of supporting the Clyde Coastgaurd Station in the Greenock Telegraph the same night as the news broadcast but yes you guessed it - not a mention of the cuts to childrens dental provision."
