Prevent post code lottery for cancer treatment - Finnie9.57.05am GMT Wed 18th Feb 2009 Commenting on the announcement of the latest cancer waiting time statistics, showing that five NHS Health Boards in Scotland did not meet the 95 per cent target for treatment within two months, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie said: "Whilst I welcome the improvement in cancer waiting times announced today, I agree with the Health Secretary that targets need to be met consistently and in full by every Health Board. "Ministers must ensure that this is achieved. Otherwise, the waiting time targets will have the unintended consequence of creating a post code lottery for those seeking cancer treatment in Scotland." Ends.
